Great Barrier Reef – Natural Wonder of the World

It consists of 3000 coral reefs, a mix of 900 continental and coral cay islands and about 150 inshore mangrove islands.

The total land mass of the Great Barrier Reef is equivalent to nearly five Japans, it is bigger than the United Kingdom, Switzerland and Holland combined, and is half the size of Texas – no wonder you can see it from the moon!!

Marine Life

From humpback whales, jellyfish, sharks, rays, dolphins, sea turtles, crocodiles, dugongs, seabirds and so many more. Hundreds of species of algae, including seaweeds, also live on the reef as a vital part of the reef system.
